2024 New Years Reflections and Goals

In August on the anniversary of our first year on twitch we  wrote out a reflection and our goals for the future.  

In the spirit of the turn of the year from 2023 into 2024 we reviewed the post and here's where we are with our present goals!

We've had to scale back quite a few projects. Health upsets can't necessarily be predicted. Also in true DID fashion we had deleted several social media accounts and now we have started or restarted a couple of accounts. We've returned to Twitter/X, and started a BlueSky account. We also made a TikTok account, we're still figuring out what we're going to post while we build our feed. 

We're getting more familiar with using VRoid, and as a result we're getting more VTubers for the streamers of Zanity. Pictures can be found on our socials and Pillowfort.  

In our August reflections and goals we said that we would..

  • Continue to grow and foster a fun discord community for viewers
    • Yes we continue to strive!
  • Use the overlays we designed for a year before redesigning them. 
    • This wasn't a realistic expectation, the overlays change constantly
  • Explore Faceless streams
    • The Tarot streams have gone very well! We look forward to hosting more. 
  • Use Mix-It-up Bot and OBS plugins to improve the streaming experience for viewers
    • Zanity had a system meeting and has decided to keep things simple for now. The technical difficulties are not worth the stress, headache, and 'wasted' time. 
  • Open Merchandising and Art Commissions for the community
  • Earn and save up towards a better gaming computer
    • Ditto, do again, more improvements in 2024
  • Learn Video editing & animation to move towards YouTube Content
    • We're actively in the process of developing the necessary skills. 
    • We're also exploring different programs and methods that will work for us to make the videos we imagine. 
  • Improve Digital Art Skills
    • I think they are definitely improving, and we're building knowledge and skill
  • 200 followers by 2024 Streamaversary
    • I learned that the official "Streamaversary" is during the affiliate annivesary, which for us is actually December 28th. Being Celebrated on January 10th
    • Still have the goal of 200 followers by 2025
  • More on-stream interactives for viewers&chatters
    • This goal is canceled, we've decided to keep streaming simplified and focus on our well-being and presence instead of the eye-candy and interactives
  • Finalizing scripts & short-stories for publication
    • Very excited to be making progress on this
    • Revising the first rough draft of a novel now! 
    • Wrote a second draft of a short story!
  • Build game development skills & knowledge
    • This has become less big and broad. 
    • We're writing potential game scripts and ideas while also exploring available formats and programs
    • Right now the idea is to start with simple 2D, Dating Sim, and Interactive Novel style games
    • Maybe Ethan(headmate) will allow us to work on his RPG game with him
  • Finalize, announce, and release undisclosed project
    • I barely know what this is referring too
    • I think a better way to word this goal is "Develop and announcement schedule."

In our personal goals for 2024 we also have our second (and hopefully last) Gender Affirming Surgery. The consultation is in mid-January and we're incredibly excited. 

It does mean we have to be patient and compassionate in how much we can expect to get done this year between regular interruptions in work plus the time to recover from major surgery.

FAQ - "So how many are you?" - Long Version
