1st Year on Twitch: Streamaversary
It’s no surprise that we’re pretty scattered and tend to jump from project to project. Not only do our conditions impact immediate time-management skills, it can also mess with long-term goals.
Making it a year as a streamer on Twitch, streaming most months out of the year and learning a lot of things through first-hand experience is absolutely incredible. We considered the first year like the pilot episode: “Okay we’ve done all this work, we have these ideas, everything is good enough to go live so let’s just jump into it and see how we like it.”
Enough of us love it. We’ve learned the limitations of our hardware and the health conditions we live with. The last year taught us a lot about what we can realistically expect from ourselves and our resources. The years to come will only teach us more.
We’re at a point where we’re planning our projects long-term. The last year has been a mad dash of following the dopamine while taking and applying advice from other community members to the best of our ability. There’s no promises that we won’t continue to jump around projects and topics in asynchronous intervals as that’s just a default of our existence, but we can promise to continue to improve and grow the content and community that’s been taking form.
In this last year we made 2 blog sites, made and deleted several social media accounts, fostered a small but lively and wholesome discord community, reached affiliate and 100 followers, learned 4 different VTuber programs, participated in at least 2 collaborative charity events, learned a new professional digital art program, and so much more.
Our plans & goals for this next year (2023-2024) are:
- Continue to grow and foster a fun discord community for viewers
- Use overlays we designed ourselves for a year and get a feel for what we might want for 2024-2025
- Explore faceless live-camera streams such as crafts, tarot, non-digital painting, and cat camera events
- Use Mix-It-Up Bot and OBS plug-ins to improve the streaming experience for viewers
- Open Merchandising and Art Commissions for the community
- Earn and save up towards a better gaming computer
- Learn video editing & animation to move towards YouTube Content
- Improve digital art skills
- 200 followers by our 2024 streamaversary
- More on-stream interactives for viewers&chatters
- Finalizing scripts & short-stories for publication
- Build game development skills & knowledge
- Finalize, announce, and release undisclosed project
So many people have taught us along the way, encouraged us, checked to make sure we weren’t charging face-first into a state of burnout. The support of everyone we’ve interacted with has helped the community grow and kept our addled brain in a constant state of learning and dedication.
Thank you for accepting us with all the quirks, thank you for giving our content a chance!
